Meet Our Doctors
Although each of our doctors has special interests, all are qualified to treat and diagnose any of the problems that your pet may develop, and they actively consult with one another regarding medical cases.
This team approach helps to ensure the best medical care possible for your pet. We are also tied into a network of Chicago area veterinary specialists, so if your pet develops specialized needs, please rest assured that will make sure that those needs are met. We want your pet to be healthy and happy and to stay that way!
Dr. Adkesson
Dr. Adriane Adkesson graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM degree in 2007 after receiving her bachelors degree from DePaul University. She worked for a year in St. Louis until her fiance finished his residency in zoo medicine. He is currently one of the veterinarians working at Brookfield Zoo which allowed them to return to the Chicago area and Dr. Adkesson’s roots. As a child, she remembers bringing their two family dogs to Burr Ridge Veterinary Clinic and even discussing her plans to go to vet school with Dr. Velders, then owner of BRVC. While in school, she did a three month veterinary medicine internship in South Africa working with a world-renowned wildlife veterinarian. She now enjoys seeing exotics in practice and has an interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Adkesson is a member of the Chicago, Illinois State, and American Veterinary Medical Associations. She recently got married to Dr. Mike Adkesson, leaving behind her maiden name, Dr. White. In her spare time, Dr. Adkesson enjoys spending time with her new husband, their dog Skyler and cat Nhyami, and getting settled into their new home. She enjoys working in the yard, reading, traveling, playing the violin, and water skiing at her family’s summer home in Michigan. She looks forward to meeting and serving the clients of BRVC for many years to come.
