Dr. Dana Johnson and her dog, Jo, recently had an exciting adventure at the AKC Rally National Championship for Rally Obedience! Jo was one of only five Dutch Shepherds to compete in the entire event—which is pretty amazing on its own—and together, they even made headlines at the competition! You can check it out here.

To qualify, Dr. Johnson and Jo had to earn titles in previous events, which took a lot of training, teamwork, and dedication. Their hard work paid off, and they had an absolute blast showing off Jo’s smarts, focus, and fun-loving personality in front of a national audience. Rally Obedience is all about communication and connection between handler and dog, and watching these two in action was something special.

Outside of the ring, the event was also a great chance to meet other competitors, cheer on new friends, and celebrate the unique strengths of each breed. For Dr. Johnson, it was especially meaningful to help shine a spotlight on the Dutch Shepherd—a loyal, intelligent, and incredible breed.

We’re so proud of this team for all they’ve accomplished. Way to go, Dr. Johnson and Jo!
